Hui Ying first joined NDRL for her Undergraduate Research Opportunities Project, NUS in 2014. Thereafter, she stayed on for her B.Sc. Honors Project and pursued a Ph.D. degree. 

​

During her seven years with our lab, Hui Ying went to three conferences overseas. She took the opportunities to build network with renowned researchers all over the world and obtain useful insights. In 2017, she won the Best Poster Award at the EMBO Workshop on Mitochondrial Quality Control in Xi'an, China. She played hard besides working hard. We could see her having great fun in the photos that she shared with us.

With much hard work and perseverance, Hui Ying passed her Ph.D. thesis defence on 2 March 2021. Due to the Covid-19 situation, we did not manage to attend her graduation ceremony. Nonetheless, we hope she liked the mini celebration that we prepared for her.

​
